Bella Hadid Takes Her Runway Beauty to the Streets at Milan Fashion Week

Today in Milan, the Max Mara fall 2020 show featured a grunge take on bohemia, dreamed up and deftly executed by makeup artist Tom Pecheux and hairstylist Sam McKnight. Eyes rimmed in smudgy black teamed with baby braids, ribbons, and slapdash tie-backs for a look that felt both editorial and wearable, an after-hours fever-dream of party-ready beauty. So it comes as no surprise that, rather than exchanging the styling for a scrubbed face and a slicked-back knot, Bella Hadid opted to take the runway vibe to the streets.

The supermodel stepped out just after Max Mara with her brunette hair raked into a nape-of-the-neck ponytail, ample strands and a single diminutive braids left to fall around her face. For an added wash of softness, peachy ribbons were secured around both braid and updo, the simple additions offering a gentle balance to the punkish eye makeup. The result was an entirely aspirational moment that calls for immediate re-creation—or, in Hadid’s case, prolonged wear.
