How One Vogue Editor Practices Self-Care While Working From Home

As we continue our social-distancing pledge, the Vogue staff is working from home for the foreseeable future. This article is part of our This Week on Zoom column, where one Vogue editor shares their WFH outfits from the previous workweek—from the waist up, of course.

One of the many things that quarantine has reminded me, is that self-care comes in many different forms. I’ve found comfort in these rituals, like morning meditations and journaling sessions, before the influx of emails roll down my screen; a post-work spa night to take the edge off; or a lunch time workout session to refocus myself for the last half of the day. I’m learning to lean into whatever I need that day, to uplift my spirits in otherwise dark times.

But the art of multitasking doesn’t stop at my daily schedule. I’ve realized the importance of wearing outfits that allow me to transition easily from a zoom meeting to the Yoga mat, because, who has time to change multiple times a day right now anyway? And not only that, I also notice that what I’ve worn during this quarantine has also become a subconscious motivator for me to practice self-love, even on my busiest work days.

Here, a week’s worth of outfits that have incited some much-needed SCFH (self-care from home), even while WFH. I hope it inspires you to take the breaks and deep breaths you deserve, too.

I don’t read as much as I should, but I’ve been trying to do more. The She Book by Tanya Markul has been a lovely, uplifting way to start and end my days. Burning my favorite Jo Malone candle in the background sets the tone for the day as well—a little aromatherapy always gets me focused. I put acupuncture ear seeds in as well, to help with my anxiety, as I knew I was in for a busy day. Because I had back to back Zoom meetings this day, I wanted to look nice but also still feel comfortable. The combo of this Rebecca Taylor dress, a cozy knit sweater and some slip on Uggs did the trick.
