Adele Is Next Week’s Saturday Night Live Host

Adele fans have been patiently waiting for new material from the British singer. Unfortunately, there’s no scheduled date for her follow-up to her successful 2015 album, 25—however, we do have something new to look forward to now. Adele announced today that she is set to host next week’s Saturday Night Live. But don’t get too excited: She isn’t the musical guest.

Adele will be hosting SNL on October 24 with H.E.R. serving as the musical guest. “Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this,” Adele wrote on her official Instagram announcement. “And also absolutely terrified!” This will be the first time Adele hosts SNL, something the singer says has always been on her career bucket list. “I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right. But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?”

Adele did appear on SNL as a musical guest back in 2008, a memory that she now looks back on fondly. “It’’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election…which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no,” Adele says. “I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all.” Clear your schedules and set those PVRs, folks.
