Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Give Dr. Anthony Fauci a Couple’s Style Tribute

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom aren’t the kind of couple to arrive on a red carpet in identical outfits, but sometimes the moment calls for matching. This morning on Instagram, Bloom and Perry shared an update featuring the latest It item, Pizzaslime’s sold out “Fauci Gang” hoodie. Created to honor the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a portion of the proceeds from each purchase goes to support the CDC’s Foundation Emergency Response Fund. With bedazzled letters on the front and a collage in the style of ‘90s rap tees on the back, the sweatshirts are a quarantine conversation piece, but more importantly, they’re a way of giving back to frontline workers.

If one person has garnered a fanbase over the last few weeks, it’s the no-nonsense Dr. Fauci. As a lead on the White House’s coronavirus task force, he’s been a constant on television since the crisis began. Whether discussing disease prevention or the progress within coronavirus research, Fauci has stuck to fact-based messaging in stark contrast to the Trump administration’s pattern of misinformation. With Brad Pitt having played Fauci on Saturday Night Live this past weekend—a performance doctor very much approved of—we’re clearly nearing peak Fauci appreciation. This latest Instagram endorsement by Perry and Bloom adds yet another humorous layer to the doctor’s public persona.
