Princess Charlotte Strikes a Pose For Her Adorable 5th Birthday Portraits

On Saturday, May 2, Princess Charlotte turns five years old. To celebrate, Kensington Palace released a brand new set of portraits of the little royal.

Taken by mother Kate Middleton, the first shot is a close-up. In it, Charlotte stares directly into the camera and flashes a confident smile.

The rest of the photos show the second-eldest Cambridge child helping deliver food to elderly local residents. One shows her carrying plastic bags, and another shows her packing them up in a cardboard box. A third captures Charlotte knocking on a neighbor’s door.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share four new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fifth birthday tomorrow,” Kensington Palace wrote on social media. “The images were taken by The Duchess as the family helped to pack up and deliver food packages for isolated pensioners in the local area.”

She’s not the only Cambridge with a recent birthday: on April 23, Prince Louis turned two. The family shared photos of him finger-painting—and, in a hilarious and social media-savvy maneuver, posted a candid of the toddler smearing paint all over his face. “Instagram vs. reality,” they joked. Louis’s portraits also had an altruistic bent: he made a rainbow handprint, a nod to the children’s movement across the United Kingdom to draw rainbows in support of NHS workers.
