Chloe x Halle Stage a Special Instagram Performance for Balmain

It has been two years since Chloe x Halle released their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, and now the two sisters are back with brand new music. This past week, the R&B duo released their latest single, “Do It.” To mark the occasion, the two artists took over Balmain’s Instagram today for a live performance of the track. Joining the stream from their living room in Los Angeles, Chloe and Halle also took time to chat with Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, who is based in Paris. And they did so fabulously, dressed to in two looks from the French house’s spring 2020 collection: Halle in a sharp-shouldered dress in a geometric yellow and black print, Chloe in a black dress with transparent mesh paneling.

Rousteing began the Instagram Live by talking about Chloe x Halle’s upcoming album, Ungodly Hour, set to drop in June. “We’re so happy to be releasing music again,” said Halle in response to Rousteing. “We were holding onto this body of work for so long,” added Chloe. The two sisters also spoke about how they are staying creative while living under lockdown. “You have to figure out new ways to excite and inspire yourself,” said Chloe. With Halle on the guitar, they sang an acoustic version of their new song, while Rousteing (and many tuned-in fans) watched admiringly.

After their one-set performance, Chloe and Halle then attempted to teach Rousteing the “Do It” dance which they had launched the day before on Balmain’s TikTok. “I tried to learn the dance on TikTok,” Rousteing told the two sisters before giving the challenge a go. “Girls, it’s so complicated!” After a few tries, however, all three of them were in sync and performed the dance flawlessly. Clearly Rousteing’s TikTok dancing practice has paid off.
