The holiday season had a special treat in store for Ariana Grande, who announced on Sunday that she was engaged to boyfriend Dalton Gomez. “Forever n then some,” Grande wrote on Instagram, along with a close-up photo of her engagement ring (and yes, I’m working very hard not to make a “7 Rings” joke here). Grande met Gomez—a real estate agent from Southern California—shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the two quarantined together for months, with Grande going Insta-official with her new beau in May.
Plenty of Grande’s celebrity friends weighed in on her impending nuptials, including Hailey Bieber, who wrote in an Instagram comment, “YAYYYYYY!!!!😍😍😍😍😍 so happy for you guys!!” Demi Lovato chimed in with well wishes too, commenting, “💞💞💞💞 this ring is everything!!!!”
“OMGGGGGG!!!!” wrote Bella Hadid, and that sentiment seemed to be shared by many of the fans who flooded Grande’s comment section to express surprise and joy about the engagement. (Truly, is there anything cooler than getting engaged on a random Sunday? Well, technically, we don’t know that Grande actually got engaged today, we just know she posted about it today, but you get the point.)
Grande was previously engaged to Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, but the two split up in October 2018. Here’s to a long-lasting, quarantine-proof love between Grande and Gomez! Can’t wait to see what kind of wedding the besotted pair dreams up post-pandemic.
