I Am Going to Watch the “Bridgerton” Trailer At Least 20 More Times Today

The official trailer for Bridgerton—a brand-new, Regency era-set TV series executive-produced by a team that includes Shonda Rhimes—hit the internet just days ago, but to be perfectly honest, the level of obsession I’ve already developed with it seems mildly unhealthy.

The series, which is based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling novel series and follows a group of eight tight-knit siblings, appears to be exactly the period drama we so desperately need right now; it’s glittery, gossipy, and chock-full of drama that we can convince ourselves is technically “highbrow.” (After all, it’s arguably Austen-adjacent.) Watch the full trailer for the show, which stars Julie Andrews, Phoebe Dynevor, Adjoa Andoh and Nicola Coughlan, below:

I’m not the only one who has instantly become enraptured with Bridgerton. Puja Prakash, Vogue’s Senior Social Media Manager, had watched the trailer “literally six times” as of 11 a.m. on Monday, explaining, “It has all the Shondaland classics: hot cast, actually diverse, great music. A historical drama I actually want to watch. I’ve been sending it to everyone, and watching it every time.”

Of course, it behooves us all to keep our expectations in check about any much-awaited piece of pop culture (remember the Happiest Season hype? How could any film ever really live up to all that?). Still, as we approach the end of a truly bizarre year, nobody would fault you for making a cup of hot tea—or a hot toddy, if that’s more your speed—and letting the Bridgerton trailer play on repeat. It’s the little things, you know?
