“Discover Seneca Village” in Central Park

A special activation near Central Park’s West 85th Street entrance will teach visitors about Seneca Village, the predominantly African American community that was formed near there in 1825; two years before slavery was abolished in New York and decades before the park was built.

Conservancy staff will be on site in Seneca Village from 10:00am to 2:00pm on June 19 and 20. Those interested in a guided tour can register for one here.

A Juneteenth Celebration at Alice Austen House

Produced by NY PopsUp, the event includes appearances by the likes of Pamela Sneed and andriniki mattis

Alice Austen House’s Juneteenth Celebration will run from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on June 19. To register for free tickets, visit here.
